This jacket cardigan is inspired by the shapes and textures of cozy but tough outdoor knits of the 1930’s and 40’s. It has comfy raglan sleeves, a sturdy, double-thick button band, and a versatile collar.

Waistband, cuffs, and collar are in knit 2, purl 2 rib stitch and the body pattern is garter rib, worked purl 2, knit 2 on the wrong side and all knit stitches on the right side. It’s a fun, easy-to-knit texture.
Front panels, back, and sleeves are worked separately from waistband to underarm, then joined and knit in one piece through the yoke and collar. The length of the body and sleeves is fully adjustable.
The pattern includes instructions for placing the buttons on the right or the left according to traditional men’s or women’s fashion, for those who have a preference.
