I’ve designed my own knits for decades, making gifts for others and most of all clothes that actually fit me, which can be hard to find. Then in fall of 2023 I designed a sweater for my husband to his specifications, and to my surprise he loved it and wore it constantly. And it suddenly occurred to me that I should try writing patterns from my designs so that other people could make them.
And that was it. I am now obsessed with making knitting patterns and sharing ideas about how to knit things–especially clothes–that are built to fit and created to be loved forever. That’s what this blog is for.
I’ve quickly learned that designing a pattern is a ton of work. But it’s super fun. Knitting is slow, and that’s a good thing. It gives you time to consider what kinds of knits are worth all that work. For me, a worthwhile project is one that will be beautiful and useful for many years to come.
I hope that’s what my patterns and this blog can give you.
Thanks,
Lola
